Fees and charges

On this page, you can find information about the fees and charges set by the Danish Civil Aviation and Railway Authority for drone-related services.

For Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland, a fixed hourly rate applies to processing applications for permits, dispensations, and operational authorizations, as well as fixed fees for drone operator registration and enrollment in drone certificate exams (A1/A3 and A2).

Fees and charges are determined in accordance with the executive order on fees and charges for the Danish Civil Aviation and Railway Authority in Aviation and related areas.

Fee for drone operator registration

A fee is charged for registering as a drone operator, whether as an organization, company, or private individual.

Fee: 65,- DKK (2025)

Fee for enrolling in drone certificate exams

A fixed fee applies for enrollment in the A1/A3 and A2 drone certificate exams.

Before taking the theoretical exams for both A1/A3 and A2, a fee must be paid.

After payment, you will have three attempts to pass the exam.

The fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether you pass or fail.

Fee: 130,- DKK (2025)

Fee for permits, dispensations, and operational authorizations

Processing and issuing permits, dispensations, and operational authorizations are subject to fees.

The fee is billed per hour and is based on the time spent processing the application.

Billing occurs progressively, regardless of whether approval is granted or denied.

Hourly Fee: 1100,- DKK (2025)

Possible External Fees

Authorities processing applications for operations in or near their areas or properties may charge fees for processing time or required imaging. This is applicable, for example, when operating near properties managed by the Agency for Palaces and Cultural Properties.

Additional fees may also apply for the theoretical A2 competence certificate exam when taken through an exam provider recognized by the Danish Civil Aviation and Railway Authority. Approved exam providers may charge for offering the exam.
